Roman Durdis (FS12 Racing Team) completed the podium as Anina Urlass (MASS SPORTS Racing by JPR Motosport) crashed on the final lap of Saturday’s action – adding another twist in the tale.

Urlass launched from pole position in the opening race of the weekend, remaining in control at Turn 1. There was some opening lap drama further back, with Levi Flier (RN LF Racing Team) crashing out. Urlass got to work at the front, stretching the field with only Siegert able to match the pace. The front two charged away as an intense fight for third began with Casper Pennings (MASS SPORTS Racing by JPR Motosport), Swan Emprin (SWAN96) and more scrapping for position.

William Krzelj (KRZ Racing Team) crashed out at Turn 12 – ending the #71’s Saturday hopes with 13 laps remaining. Northern Cup drama continued as Emprin was handed a Long Lap for a shortcut at Turn 10, moments before Miro Masson (Junior Black Knights) became the next rider to crash out. Back at the front, the top two continued to stretch the gap as Durdis and Wenzel traded blows for the final podium spot.

A Balaton blockbuster brewed as the laps ticked down, with all eyes remaining on the fight for third whilst Siegert waited for an opportunity to pounce at the front. The #11 was keeping Urlass honest, piling on the pressure ahead of the final lap of action. The headlines were written on Lap 14 as Siegert made the pass for the lead, as Urlass crashed out – handing Siegert victory.

Siegert was your Race 1 winner, adding a further 25 points to his 2026 tally – securing the advantage. Wenzel followed in second as the best of the rest, with Durdis completing the podium. Adam Vyskocil (AV79 Racing Team) narrowly missed out on a rostrum finish, while Jaylen Koproraal (Jaylen Korporaal Racing) rounded out the top five. Danny Hinkelmann (Hinkelmann DH 14 Racing) took sixth despite late drama as Jason Rudolph (RacingTeam Rudolph) and Pennings finished behind. Anton Rishede Eilersen (ARE Racing) and Louis Wolff (Kiefer Racing) rounded out the top 10 – leaving tension sky-high for Sunday.

Siegert completes the perfect trip to Hungary

It was another shift in the title picture as Siegert extended his margin to 32 points over Thias Wenzel.

Urlass started from pole once again, looking to bounce back on Sunday morning following Race 1’s crash. It was Casper Pennings claiming the holeshot this time around, impressing at lights out. Urlass didn’t wait long to attack, quickly placing the #21 machine into P1 ahead of Siegert, who also made his way through on Pennings. Anton Rishede Eilersen suffered first lap drama, crashing at Turn 15 and bringing a close to his weekend.

The lead changed hands on multiple occasions throughout the opening stage of Sunday, with Siegert becoming the rider to beat as the #11 entered the lead. Siegert stretched the gap to Durdis behind, who in turn began to scrap with Urlass, adding to the Northern Cup spectacle. There was drama for the MASS SPORTS Racing by JRP Motosport squad as Pennings entered the pits to retire before Urlass began to lose time with signs of smoke from the #21’s machine.

Urlass was shown the black and orange flag, retiring to the pits with four laps remaining, leaving Hungary with no points scored. Moments later, Louis Wolff crashed at Turn 1 before Wenzel suffered drama himself with a technical issue, forcing the German rider to also retire. Meanwhile, the battle for third continued until the final lap, with Jason Rudolph looking for a rostrum opportunity.

Siegert took victory from Durdis as Vyskocil held on, grabbing a late podium and forcing Rudolph to settle for fourth position. Smilla Göttlich (Team Freudenberg – PALIGO Racing) ended the weekend in style, finishing inside the top five and ahead of Jaylen Korporaal.
